Prose Workshop with Tim MacGabhann

**In partnership with the Irish Writers Centre.**

Feel frustrated with your story? It’s not because you don’t know what you want: it’s because your characters don’t. This workshop, with author and poet****Tim MacGabhann,**** features exercises for getting to know your characters’ desires, and setting them in motion, therefore animating your short story or novel-in-progress. The way that this macro level of the story is borne out at the level of the sentence will also be considered, with a view to producing cleaner and more transparent prose.

Please note we may be capturing candid imagery at this event for use on our social media and website.

****Tim MacGabhann**** is the author of the novels **Call Him Mine** (2019) and**How to Be****Nowhere** (2020), the memoir **The Black Pool**(2025), the short story collection**Saints**(2025), and the poetry collection **Found in a Context of****Destruction (**2026).
