Instead of awkward small talk\, we’re handing you the clicker. \nParticipants will have three and a half minutes to present a powerpoint pitching their friend to a room full of potential suiters. Think: green flags\, red flags\, fun facts\, embarrassing photos (used lovingly)\, and why this person is an absolute catch. \n \nHow it works: \n\nPurchase a ticket to attend the event\nYou’ll receive a confirmation email with a google form to nominate yourself or a friend to present\nWe will let you know if you have been picked to present or not (sorry\, we are limited on time\, we can’t give everybody the time!)\nIf choosen to present\, you’ll get three and a half glorious minutes to sell the dream\nThere will be a prize for the best presentation\n\n \nNo pressure. One of Ireland’s most successful comedy event companies\, his comedically experienced\, high energy\, and anecdotal style draws in an audience and brings on the big laughs with ease! \nFollowing in the footsteps of Simon Pegg\, Dylan Moran and Dara Ó Briain – Danny was handpicked in 2016 to perform as part of the iconic ‘Best of The Edinburgh Fest’ Show across Australia touring Perth World Fringe\, Adelaide Fringe Festival and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He was asked back in 2018 and again 2019\, making him the only Irish comic to do the tour a record three times. \nHe performed his first solo show at the 2012 Edinburgh Fringe Festival to rave reviews and scooped the title of “Dublin’s Funniest Comedian” at the prestigious “Stand Up For FM104” that same year. In 2013 Danny took part in the Irish TV show The RTE Comedy Awards and released his first comedy album on iTunes as part of the Irish Underground Comedy Show. He also beat sixteen of Ireland’s best up-and-coming acts to take the coveted Toilet Duck Award at ‘Tedfest’ (the now-famous Father Ted celebration). \nDanny O’ Brien featured in The 2017 Comedy Central Show “Brexit at Tiffany’s” and is a regular on Irish Television and Radio. He has toured nationally with Ireland’s biggest radio stars Dermot & Dave on their sell-out live show as well as regularly opening for acts such as The USA’s David Cross and Scotland’s Iain Stirling in Ireland’s premier comedy venue\, Vicar Street. In 2018 he opened for American comedian Bill Burr in front of over 8\,000 people in Dublin. \nHe has returned to The Edinburgh Fringe with a brand new hour each and every year since. His 2018 solo show ‘Lock-In’ sold out its entire run at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival\, Galway Arts Festival\, Wexford Spiegeltent Festival\, Clifden Arts Festival and received rave reviews. The show toured over 60 dates all over the globe in 2019 including an extensive Irish tour as well as cities including London\, Prague\, Brno\, Budapest\, Berlin\, LA and finally finishing with a month-long tour of Asia including Bangkok\, Saigon\, Hanoi\, Jakarta\, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. His brand new show ‘Reformer’ debuted at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival and had a series of sold-out shows in the US\, Europe and a whole host of Festivals as well as a 30+ date sellout Irish and UK Tour in early 2020. \nDuring the pandemic of 2020\, Danny O’ Brien launched a hugely successful event company ‘Garden Gigs Ireland’ which saw him perform outdoor socially distanced shows to inner-city Dublin communities and frontline workers which featured on every major Irish and UK news and media outlet. During lockdown he helped to raise over €100\,000 through online shows and fundraisers for The Irish cancer Society\, Pieta House and Wexford Women’s Refuge to name but a few. Danny also filmed and produced a live “Lockdown Comedy Special” which received huge viewing figures from it’s Saturday night TV airing as well as ten’s of thousands of views online-it was the first of it’s kind on Irish television and was praised for it’s innovation during the lockdown! \nGarden Gigs Ireland has continually adapted to the pandemic performing well over 100+ online shows and virtual events with its own developed format for companies and organisations all over the globe. Danny has also facilitated ‘Comedy & Confidence Building’ workshops for secondary schools and universities all over Ireland since last spring and launched the hugely successful ‘Ringend Comedy Festival’ with two days of sellout shows\, over a dozen acts with all of the festivals ticket proceeds going to two local children’s charities\, Féileacáin and Autism Equality Dublin Bay. \nIn early 2021 Danny performed a solo comedy tour of Central America with several sell out shows all over Guatemala donating all of his shows ticket proceeds to the local comedians & musicians who opened the shows as well as local charities that supported communities that had been hit the hardest by the pandemic such as The Integral Heart Foundation\, Casa del Alfarero Association and to the local Mayan communities in Tzununa at Lake Lake Atitlán. \nIn March of 2021\, O’ Brien then teamed up with local Costa Rican comedian and musician Kurt Dyer to do the first ever Irish/Tico double header show on Saint Patricks in San José\, the show was a compete advance sell out and the first big live performance in the entire country is over a year.
