Meet new people\, learn about new things and try something different\n\n\nSomething different to do in Ireland? \nCome spend an evening in the pub listening to fascinating talks\, meeting interesting people\, and diving into ideas you probably won’t hear anywhere else. \nThis is a live lecture and talk series taking place in pubs across Dublin\, Belfast\, Cork\, and Galway. Every event features a different speaker and theme\, covering everything from science\, history\, psychology\, philosophy\, politics\, film\, Irish culture\, and bizarre internet rabbit holes to cinema breakdowns\, existential questions\, and strange moments from history. \nOne night could be about Dublin history\, cult movies\, or the psychology of personality. Another could explore black holes\, political movements\, philosophy\, true crime\, science fiction\, or the weird side of human behaviour. \nAfter each talk there’s a live Q&A\, drinks\, conversation\, and a chance to meet new people who are curious about the world and up for a good night out that’s a little different from the usual pub routine. \nWe’re also looking for new speakers from all kinds of backgrounds. Academics\, writers\, artists\, researchers\, comedians\, creatives\, or anyone deeply obsessed with a topic they love talking about. SUMMARY:Kiasmos - II Reworked: Listening Party
DESCRIPTION:A special listening party celebrating the release of Kiasmos II Reworked\n\n\nJoin us on July 2nd for an official listening party celebrating the launch of Kiasmos II Reworked! The album will be played loud and in full on our lovely soundsystem. \nDoors 9:30pm \nAlbum Play 10pm \nCopies of the album will be available on the night. \nIn July 2024 Kiasmos returned with their second album\, II\, to critical and fan acclaim. The album took Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen across four continents over the next 18 months\, playing to sold-out audiences. \nNow the duo have entrusted five artists to completely reimagine it.Arnalds and Rasmussen\, together with executive producer Robert Raths\, invited long-time friend and composer Alex Somers\, producers/multi-instrumentalists duo Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith (aka Disiniblud)\, and fellow Icelandic composer duo Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang to rework the entire album. \nThe result is a sprawling and shimmering trip back through the record’s melodies\, with a dream-like daze more suited for after the dancefloor and when the lights have faded.II Reworked will be released on vinyl and CD on July 3\, with a digital release following on August 7. \nKiasmos and Erased Tapes are partnering with selected venues worldwide to invite fans to come and listen to the full album together the evening before the album’s physical release. Early purchase of the CD / LP will be available on the night.
