SUMMARY:Jodi Picoult: Hollow Bones
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with internationally bestselling author Jodi Picoult\, in conversation about her epic new novel\, Hollow Bones\n\n\nJoin us for an evening with internationally bestselling author Jodi Picoult\, in conversation with broadcaster Miriam O’Callaghan about her epic and heart-wrenching new novel\, Hollow Bones. \nOn September 11\, 2001\, two-month-old Molly Fitzgerald’s mother goes to an appointment at the World Trade Center and never comes home. She is raised by her father and new stepmother\, but grows up with a healthy dread of disasters. She now runs the local Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response\, mapping out plans to save lives in disasters. She and her husband Jesse – a police polygraph expert with his own history of crisis – have found a love that is a solace in a dangerous world. Until the unexpected upends their marriage\, leading them to question everything they thought they knew… \nMoving between past and present\, Hollow Bones is a story of the lies we tell ourselves as we write the narratives of our lives\, the risks we take to protect the ones we love in a world where crisis is always just around the corner\, and the ties that bind mothers and daughters. \n \nJodi Picoult is the author of 30 novels\, with 60 million copies sold worldwide. She has had 17 Sunday Times number one bestsellers. Five novels have been made into movies and Between The Lines (co-written with daughter Samantha van Leer) has been adapted as a musical. SUMMARY:Legends\, Ghosts and Ghouls of Dublin | Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Experience Dublin's mysterious legends and myths on this 90 minute walking tour.\n\n\nLegends\, Ghosts\, and Ghouls!\n \nIreland has a unique relationship with its legendary past. Kept alive in the histories of the Filí and the Seanchaidhe\, Ireland’s gods were not destroyed but – in the words of Mark Williams – demoted to lesser beings. This is an important element of Ireland’s oral histories\, which in turn have coloured its popular histories and left many legends for us to parse over today. \nOn the other side of Irish history we have the ballrooms\, the salons\, and the private studies of Dublin’s litterati. The seances and unwrapping parties\, the mysteries and the macabre\, all combining into the secret esoteric orders that strove to unlock the secrets of existence. \nCome explore with us where these two elements fuse to create the wonderful world of Legends\, Ghosts\, and Ghouls that are just as much a part of Dublin’s history as any of its citizens and buildings… \nOur tour has over 100 excellent reviews online and is ranked in the top tours on Trip Advisor. \nTOPICS \n\nMaud Gonne & WB Yeats\nThe Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn\nHuguenot Cemetery\nThe Ghost of the Shelbourne\nSt. Stephen’s Green’s Grizzly History\nBram Stoker\nGraverobbers\nDarkey Kelly\nDublin’s House of Horrors\nTenements\nJustice in Dublin\n\nPRIVATE TOURS \nWe are also now doing private tours for groups\, if you want to host your own tour get in touch with us. We can do tours for friend groups\, work parties\, educational tours or community tours.👬🧑‍🤝‍🧑 \nWHAT ELSE DO WE DO? \nWe host art nights\, pottery\, walking tours\, workshops\, rug tufting and lots of whacky events. Join us for Drink & Draw Ireland’s art party or one of our many experiences.🎨 \nSUPPORT LOCAL \nAfter each tour we will send you a link to each artist featured and also bring you to a gallery where you can support artists by buying prints\, paintings or commission them for work! \nFAQ? \nWhat happens if I’m late? \nWe encourage anyone who is late to still join the tour\, after you get a ticket you will get an email that will have instructions.📩 \nWhat happens if it rains? \nAll tours proceed even if it’s raining\, please bring an umbrella or rain jacket just in case.☔ \nIs this wheelchair accessible? \nUnfortunately parts of the tour is not accessible\, the first location is accessible to everyone. \nWhere does the tour start and end? \nThe tour starts at WB Yeats house and ends at Dublin Castle. \nI can’t attend? Can I get a refund? \nWe need 5 days notice to issue a refund so if you don’t think you can attend please let us know as soon as possible. We are a small independent business and rely on small groups to make these tours possible. \nCan I swap my ticket? \nAgain as a small business our guides rely on these tours to support their livelihood. We cannot swap tickets unless you give us 5 days notice. You can transfer your ticket to another person to attend in your place. \nShould I Tip? \nIf you enjoy it you can tip your guide if you want!
