SUMMARY:Press Play: Sinéad O'Connor 'I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got'
DESCRIPTION:Shrem continues the newly established tradition of dedicating its July edition of “Press Play” to the inimitable Sinéad O’Connor.\n\n\nFollowing last year’s “The Lion and the Cobra” listening party\, Shrem continues the newly established tradition of dedicating its July edition of “Press Play” to the inimitable Sinéad O’Connor. While the event will commemorate\, explore and celebrate the extraordinary career and legacy of the Irish singer-songwriter\, it will focus in particular on her breakthrough global phenomenon and second studio album\, “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got”. \nThis Grammy-winning record quickly became one of the most iconic albums of the 1990’s\, propelled by O’Connor’s most famous single\, the Prince-penned “Nothing Compares 2 U”\, which served as its lead single. The critically acclaimed LP featured many of the artist’s most memorable and beloved songs\, including “The Emperor’s New Clothes”\, “Three Babies”\, “I Am Stretched on Your Grave” and “The Last Day of Our Acquaintance”. \n“I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got” has stood the test of time as a raw\, emotional and fearless recording\, blending rock and folk soundscapes with echoes of traditional Irish music and even subtle hip-hop influences. It remains a bold\, uncompromising and daring artistic statement – a rare instance of an alternative and fiercely independent body of work achieving enormous commercial success. \nThe album will be played loud\, in its entirety\, on the HiFi Hatchett Sound System for a truly immersive listening experience. The night will also feature a two-part\, hand-curated vinyl set crafted exclusively for this event\, spanning Sinéad’s vibrant\, eclectic and unparalleled catalogue\, with a particular focus on her first four musical eras. \nExpect a carefully woven selection of beloved tracks alongside rare B-sides\, deep cuts\, unexpected and sometimes overlooked collaborations\, and reimagined moments – an all-encompassing homage to one of Ireland’s most singular\, timeless and unapologetically authentic artists. \nWith just 40 tickets available due to the intimate nature of the space\, early booking is highly recommended.

SUMMARY:Legends\, Ghosts and Ghouls of Dublin | Walking Tour
DESCRIPTION:Experience Dublin's mysterious legends and myths on this 90 minute walking tour.\n\n\nLegends\, Ghosts\, and Ghouls!\n \nIreland has a unique relationship with its legendary past. Kept alive in the histories of the Filí and the Seanchaidhe\, Ireland’s gods were not destroyed but – in the words of Mark Williams – demoted to lesser beings. This is an important element of Ireland’s oral histories\, which in turn have coloured its popular histories and left many legends for us to parse over today. \nOn the other side of Irish history we have the ballrooms\, the salons\, and the private studies of Dublin’s litterati. The seances and unwrapping parties\, the mysteries and the macabre\, all combining into the secret esoteric orders that strove to unlock the secrets of existence. \nCome explore with us where these two elements fuse to create the wonderful world of Legends\, Ghosts\, and Ghouls that are just as much a part of Dublin’s history as any of its citizens and buildings… \nOur tour has over 100 excellent reviews online and is ranked in the top tours on Trip Advisor. \nTOPICS \n\nMaud Gonne & WB Yeats\nThe Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn\nHuguenot Cemetery\nThe Ghost of the Shelbourne\nSt. Stephen’s Green’s Grizzly History\nBram Stoker\nGraverobbers\nDarkey Kelly\nDublin’s House of Horrors\nTenements\nJustice in Dublin\n\nPRIVATE TOURS \nWe are also now doing private tours for groups\, if you want to host your own tour get in touch with us. We are a small independent business and rely on small groups to make these tours possible. \nCan I swap my ticket? \nAgain as a small business our guides rely on these tours to support their livelihood. We cannot swap tickets unless you give us 5 days notice. You can transfer your ticket to another person to attend in your place. \nShould I Tip? \nIf you enjoy it you can tip your guide if you want! This weekend you’ve got: \nJohnnie Feel Good: Don’t miss the chance to experience legendary entertainer Johnnie Feelgood live. Fresh from a celebrated Vegas residency\, he brings his full electric charm\, golden voice\, and veteran showmanship to the stage. With seamless glitz\, witty banter\, and a genuine love for performing\, Johnnie creates an unforgettable connection—turning every show into a shared\, euphoric event. A true icon and pure entertainment. ★★★★★ \nMatt Richardson: Matt is a multi-award-winning stand-up and one of the UK’s most exciting rising names. Starting at 18 in 2009\, he became one of the youngest comedians on the circuit — and within years had reached the finals of So You Think You’re Funny and the Chortle Student Comedy Award\, won Newbury and Bath new act competitions\, and placed runner-up at Reading. He’s since played every major UK comedy chain and gigged overseas. Not bad for someone who started before he could legally drink. \nChris Watts: Chris Watts is easy to spot in a crowd — which is useful\, because he’s an albino comedian from Ireland. Far from a gimmick\, Chris uses his unique appearance as a shortcut into sharper\, darker\, and deeply personal material about visibility\, difference\, and why SPF 100 is his best friend. He’s played in many venues & festivals\, and become one of Irish comedy’s most distinctive rising voices — literally and figuratively. He doesn’t just tell “albino jokes.” He tells brilliant jokes that happen to come from an albino. You’ll remember his face. You’ll leave quoting his punchlines. \nGar Murran: A Laughter Lounge Hall of Famer and our longest-serving MC\, Gar Murran doesn’t just warm up crowds—he owns them. With 15+ years of stage domination\, his lethal combo of lightning-fast crowd work\, filthy one-liners\, and nuclear-grade charisma makes every show feel like a riot. Whether he’s roasting hecklers into submission or firing off instant-classic comebacks\, Gar’s the reason our audiences arrive as strangers and leave as accomplices in comedy crime. Book a seat and witness a true Irish comedy legend in his natural habitat. \nLine up of the year?
