Just as the summer ends we can start looking forward to that first sound of steins touching & beer spilling\, a time when we can bring a dollop of Bavarian cheer to Drumcondra with a whole month dedicated to all things beer\, cheese\, pretzels and of course\, bratwurst. \nEatyard hosts Dublin’s favourite Oktoberfest event\, running from Sept 24th – Oct 24th at at The Bernard Shaw! And it’s not all about the beer & food\, there will be usual Bodytonic Buzz with a whole host of German games to dig your teeth into including Stein-Holding competitions\, Hasselhoff karaoke\, Lederhösen Limbo\, the spicy currywurst challenge\, live music & much more \nOn tap we will have a range of German Beers & giant steins\, as well as some N/A options\, & Bavarian Winter Warmers for those not too pushed on large glasses of beer! \nAnd then there’s the food! We’ll have Hot Pretzels\, Normal + Vegan Bratwursts\, Currywurst Schnitzel Burgers and our favourite\, Bavarian Cheese & Charcuterie boards \nTICKETS NOW ON SALE \n€15 per person and include 2 x drink tokens (Good for any 0.5L Steins of beer or glass of Mulled Wine) and a German Pretzel on entry. \n⭐ Please note tables & areas are not reservable so if you want to sit together\, make sure to arrive early. DESCRIPTION:Kíla perform a one off concert at The Purty Kitchen this coming October + special guests C Faoi Thrí\n\n\nFormed at school in Dublin’s late 1980’s\, Award-winning band\, Kíla\, are heralded as one of Ireland’s most innovative and exciting bands. Their unique sound has been ever-evolving\, rooted in tradition\, yet inspired by a myriad of influences and ideas from all around the world. \nOften defined as contemporary Irish World music\, Kíla fuse the effects of their own melodies and Irish (Gaeilge) lyrics\, Irish folk instruments such as whistles\, fiddles\, Uilleann pipes\, bones and bodhrán with djembe\, congas\, drums\, mandolins\, brass\, and acoustic/electric/ bass guitars. Kíla’s eight members come from the differing musical backgrounds of traditional\, classical\, and rock. \nThe result is a fresh blend of freewheeling instrumentals\, furious jigs\, and primal rhythms that transcend the traditional boundaries of Irish music. \nKíla have worked extensively in TV and film. In 2020 they won the IFTA for Best Original Score for the soundtrack or Arracht (TG4). Their most notable collaborations have been with French composer Bruno Coulais on the soundtracks for Cartoon Saloon’s three Oscar-nominated animated films The Secret of Kells (2010)\, Song of the Sea (2014)\, and most recently for Wolfwalkers (2020). \nOver the past number of years they are forever evolving and forever furthering their legacy in Irish music performing high profile events both nationally and Internationally and are still growing in popularity as one of Ireland’s must-see live bands! \n \nCatch Kila this October for a very special Halloween party at The Purty Kitchen Dún Laoghaire for one night only + special guests C Faoi Thrí.
