They’ll share what happens behind the scenes\, from the first line on the page to the finished track\, and explore the unexpected connections\, differences and influences that shape their music. A conversation about words\, sound and what it means to make music for Ireland now. \nThis is an 18+ event. \nCurated by DBF Youth Curator JP Curran\, \nSupported by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature. \nWhile this event is free\, by making one of your tickets a ‘Supporter’s Ticket‘ you will be making a valuable contribution towards keeping future events accessible and towards the sustainable growth of Dublin Book Festival. \nPlease note we may be capturing candid imagery at this event for use on our social media and website. \nPippa Molony is an exciting electronic act from Dublin. Her debut EP\, Hungry Ghost (October 2024)\, is an eight-track avant-pop EP that explores consumption\, folklore and dreams\, and was created in collaboration with producer Rory Sweeney. Her music nods to artists such as Sinéad O’Connor\, Jenny Hval\, Jockstrap\, Astrid Sonne\, Róis\, Rachael Lavelle\, Tirzah\, Lankum and Bjork\, while establishing a distinctly Irish\, dark ethereal and otherworldly sonic identity of her own. More recently\, Pippa released a synth driven\, atmospheric cover of the Irish rebel song The Foggy Dew (March 2026\, feat. Rory Sweeney). The track marks her first release since Hungry Ghost and the beginning of a new body of work\, with new music set for release in late 2026 and into 2027. She has been featured by magazines such as Anois Os Aird\, Hot Press\, District Magazine\, The Thin Air and Fourth Best\, among others\, and has received radio play in Ireland and abroad. In 2025\, she was named a Hot Press ‘Hot for 25’ artist\, and her EP Hungry Ghost found itself in multiple end of year round ups (David Kitt/New Jackson’s Favourite Songs of 2024 for Nialler 9\, The Thin Air’s Top 100 Irish Releases of 2024\, and more. \nAhmed Karim Tamu (known professionally as Ahmed\, With Love) is a 26-year-old Irish-born Sierra Leonean musician\, actor\, and professional wrestler (in training) with a multidisciplinary background in live performing arts\, including writing\, directing\, producing\, and event organization. Although his media and sources of inspiration vary\, a constant thread running through Ahmed’s artistry is the beauty in the absurd and the belief that creativity need not take itself seriously to explore serious subjects or be seriously appreciated. Ahmed’s strong but tongue-in-cheek performance style has made him a staple part of Ireland’s live music scene\, having performed at the likes of Forbidden Fruit\, All Together Now\, The Great Escape (Brighton) and Primavera (Barcelona). Outside of music\, Ahmed is still involved in the theatrical space\, with prior acting roles as part of Pan Pan Theatre Company (Mespil In The Dark) and The 24-Hour Plays 2026.
