## On-street parking in Dublin

Dublin City Council runs pay and display by colour zone. Charging hours are on each street sign, typically 7am–7pm Monday to Saturday, and parking is free on public holidays.

| Zone | Per hour | Where |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Yellow | €4.00 | City core |
| Red | €3.50 | High demand |
| Green | €2.00 | Medium demand |
| Orange | €1.20 | Low demand |
| Blue | €0.90 | Suburban villages |

### How to pay

Use the street machine or Payzone (app, web, text to 53311 or call 01 244 9999). ParkMagic only works in Q-Park car parks.

### Maximum stay

Limits are set street by street, so read the sign before you leave the car.

### Disabled parking

A valid Disabled Person’s Parking Permit lets you park free in any pay and display space.

**Clamping:** release costs €125, and unpaid cars can be towed after 24 hours (€250 plus €35 a day). Enforcement changes from 1 November 2026, when a new council contract starts.

## Luas Park & Ride: the budget option

Leave the car on the edge of the city and take the tram in. Parking doesn’t include a Luas ticket, so buy one for the same day.

| Park & Ride | Luas line | Parking per day |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Red Cow | Red Line | €4 |
| Cheeverstown | Red Line | €2 |
| Tallaght | Red Line | €5 max (5.30am–10.30pm) |
| Sandyford | Green Line | €4 |
| Stillorgan | Green Line | €4 |
| Balally | Green Line | €5 |
| Carrickmines | Green Line | €3 |

## Parking tips for visitors

### Pre-book for events

Concert and match days fill central car parks early. A [Q-Park pre-booking](https://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?gid=600605&mid=124216&awinaffid=1937851&linkid=4729421&clickref=parking-tips) guarantees your space.

### Check the height

Most central car parks are 1.90–2.10 m, so campervans and roof boxes may not fit.

### Charging an EV?

St Stephen’s Green has 25 charge points, Parnell 10, and The Spire and Christchurch 8 each.

### Staying overnight?

Overnight flat rates start at €12 at APCOA Jervis Street and €14 at Drury Street.
