Middle Eastern Cookery Class – A Culinary Journey Through the Flavours of the Middle East
Join me for an enriching and interactive culinary experience as we dive into my version of the vibrant and diverse world of Middle Eastern cuisine. This hands-on cookery class offers a unique opportunity to learn traditional techniques, explore bold spices, and create dishes that celebrate the warmth and generosity of Middle Eastern hospitality.
You'll begin the session by preparing freshly made herb flatbreads, perfect for scooping up a colourful and flavour-packed mezze platter. The mezze will include a delightful variety of small plates that features dips, hummus, pickles, salads, and nibbles typical of the region’s cuisine.
Under the guidance of your host, Bronagh, you’ll have the chance to get involved in various stages of the cooking process. While some elements will be demonstrated, there will be ample opportunities for you to roll up your sleeves and cook alongside her.
For the main course, Bronagh will demonstrate the creation of a classic Middle Eastern dish: a classic butter chicken with delicious chicken tikka.
For those who prefer a vegetarian option, she'll prepare Harira – a rich and hearty Moroccan chickpea and lentil stew, traditionally served to warm both body and soul.
Your feast will be complemented by an array of vibrant side dishes, including aromatic pilau rice with whole spices or zesty Lebanese tabbouleh, bright ribbon salad, and spiced Batata Harra (potatoes with chilli, garlic and coriander).
To round off the evening, indulge in a selection of traditional Middle Eastern desserts. Depending on the menu, you may enjoy sticky, nut-filled baklava; Persian rosewater and lemon cake; rose, cardamom and orange-scented sponge; mango and passionfruit meringues with crushed pistachio; or luscious dates filled with nuts and spices.
Whether you're a passionate home cook or just beginning your culinary journey, this class promises a deliciously memorable evening filled with flavour, culture, and inspiration.
