We are delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed pianist Michael McHale as our guest soloist for Mozart’s magnificent Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major — a work of extraordinary beauty and elegance.

The evening opens with the serene and expressive Romanza from Vaughan Williams’s Symphony No. 5, with its flowing melodies and delicate orchestral colours creating an atmosphere of contemplation and quiet beauty.

The programme culminates with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor. From its sombre opening to its sweeping melodies, dramatic contrasts and exhilarating finale, this much-loved symphony takes us on a powerful and deeply emotional journey.
