Fighting Words Story Slam: Open Mic Session for Teen Writers

This event takes place in The Chapel in the North Range of IMMA Venues.

The Fighting Words Story Slam at the Dublin Book Festival is an open mic event for young people aged 13–18 to share original stories, poems, and songs! This fun and exciting platform celebrates youth creativity and gives performers a chance to shine on stage. Registration is required for performers and audience spots are also limited—book early to be part of this exciting celebration of young voices!

This is a family friendly event.

This is a free event. Alternatively, by choosing a donation ticket to any amount, you would be contributing towards keeping DBF events accessible for all.

Dave Rudden is an Irish author and scriptwriter. His bestselling novel, Knights of the Borrowed Dark, won Children’s Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards in 2016 and is now a syllabus text. He has also authored multiple works in the universe of Doctor Who. Dave has been an Ambassador for Ireland Reads since 2022 and is Writer-in-Residence for the Kids Love Books podcast on RTÉ and Artist-in-Residence at Dublin City University.
