This policy explains what personal data Dublin 360 collects when you use dublin-360.com, our Fionn trip planner and the Dublin 360 Ireland Guide for ChatGPT, why we collect it, and your rights. Dublin 360 is run by Dermot Murphy, a sole trader based in Dublin, Ireland, who is the data controller. Contact: info@dublin-360.com.

1. The short version

• You can read the whole site without telling us who you are.
• We only use analytics, personalised ads and marketing cookies if you agree to them.
• When you book a tour, ticket or hotel, you book with that company, and they handle your booking and payment details, not us.
• We never sell your personal data.

2. What we collect and why

When you visit the site

Our hosting provider (Hostinger) and security tools automatically log technical data, such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you request. We use this to run the site, keep it secure and stop spam and attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

Dublin 360 uses Google Tag Manager to manage website tags, and Google Analytics (including through Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use our website, including which pages are visited and how visitors find us. These services may process information such as device and browser information, online identifiers, approximate location and website interaction data.

We also use Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager to display advertising. Depending on your consent choices and the advertising configuration, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver advertising, measure performance and prevent advertising fraud. With your consent, we also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits that come from Facebook and Instagram.

We use a cookie-consent mechanism to manage your preferences for non-essential cookies and tracking technologies. Where consent is required, these technologies should not be activated before consent is obtained. You can change or withdraw your preferences at any time through the “Change my cookie choices” button on our Cookie Policy page. Legal basis: your consent, except for strictly necessary cookies.

Google, Meta and other relevant service providers may process information under their own privacy terms. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.

When you contact us or fill in a form

If you email us or use one of our forms (built with WPForms or Jotform), we receive what you send, usually your name, email address and message. We use it to reply and deal with your request. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you or, where you ask about a booking with us, taking steps towards a contract.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our emails, we keep your email address (and name, if you give it) to send you Dublin and Ireland news, tips and offers. We use Hostinger Reach to send them. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent.

Comments

If you comment, we store your name, email address, website (if given), comment, IP address and browser details to publish the comment and to detect spam. An anonymised string created from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check if you have a profile picture. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running comments and stopping spam.

Fionn, our trip planner

Fionn is an AI chat assistant provided through Chatbase. What you type is processed by Chatbase and the AI model provider it uses to generate answers, and conversations may be stored so we can improve answers and fix problems. Please do not share sensitive information, such as health details, card details or passwords, in the chat. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering a helpful planning tool.

The Dublin 360 Ireland Guide for ChatGPT

Our ChatGPT guide runs inside ChatGPT, which is provided by OpenAI. It uses travel information we have packaged into it and does not send your conversation to Dublin 360, so we do not receive your messages, name or account details. OpenAI processes your conversation under its own privacy policy. If you click a link in the guide, you visit dublin-360.com, ireland360.ie or a booking partner, and that site’s privacy policy applies.

Bookings and partner links

Our tour, ticket, event, hotel, car hire, insurance and luggage storage links and widgets are provided by partners, including FareHarbor, Dubtours, GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Viator, Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, LiteAPI, Travelpayouts and Stasher. When you book, you give your details directly to that partner, who acts as a separate controller under its own privacy policy. Some links are affiliate links: the partner may use a cookie or link code to record that you came from Dublin 360, so we can earn a commission. We receive booking totals or commission reports, not your payment details.

Stays at Molloy’s Apartments, shown on our Stay with us page, are booked through the Cloudbeds booking engine. Your booking and payment details go to Cloudbeds and are handled for the booking under the Molloy’s Apartments terms and Cloudbeds’ privacy policy.

Other features

Some pages use GTranslate for translation, show Google reviews, or embed YouTube videos and social media posts. These providers may collect data when the feature loads or when you use it, under their own policies.

3. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Dublin 360 and process it on our instructions or as independent controllers, including Hostinger (hosting and email), Google, Meta, Chatbase, Jotform, Cloudbeds and our booking partners. We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Transfers outside the EU

Some providers, such as Google, Meta, OpenAI and Chatbase, may process data in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiries and form submissions: up to 2 years after our last contact, unless we need them longer for a booking or a legal reason.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Comments: for as long as the comment is published.
• Server and security logs: kept for a short period by our hosting provider, normally no more than a few months.
• Cookies: see our Cookie Policy.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use it, including at any time to direct marketing;
• receive data you gave us in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email info@dublin-360.com. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie), or to the authority in the EU country where you live.

7. Children

Dublin 360 is a general travel guide and is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), login protection and keeping our software up to date. No website is completely secure, so please do not send us sensitive information by form, comment or chat.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when our tools or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change, we will make it clear on the site.
