From natural philosophers to particle physicists, Irish STEM Lives (Royal Irish Academy) spotlights 46 trailblazing scientists who shaped Ireland’s scientific story. Join the book’s editors Jane Grimson MRIA and Turlough O’Riordan and biochemist Luke O’Neill MRIA in conversation with science broadcaster Jonathan McCrea, as they delve into some of these extraordinary lives. Hear about the bold ideas and unexpected breakthroughs that have shaped STEM today.

This event takes place in the Creativity Hub in the North Range at IMMA Venues.

Jane Grimson is a Member of the Royal Irish Academy and past president of Engineers Ireland and of the Irish Academy of Engineering. She is a Fellow Emerita and former vice provost of Trinity College Dublin.

Professor Luke O’Neill is a world-renowned immunologist and a professor of biochemistry at Trinity College Dublin, and the author of multiple books. Luke is a member of the Royal Irish Academy and is a fellow of the Royal Society.

Turlough O’Riordan is a historian and the online and digital editor of the Dictionary of Irish Biography. He has worked on the project for over two decades.
