The Bernard Shaw Presents: Slum Village

Emerging from the dynamic streets of Conant Gardens in Detroit, Slum Village is not just a music group, but a close-knit brotherhood tied together by friendship and their shared musical passions. Established in the early 1990s by T3, Baatin, and the iconic J Dilla (also known as Jay Dee), the group quickly became a cornerstone in Detroit’s hip-hop scene.
J Dilla’s, enduring influence continued to shape the group, with his protégé and Grammy-nominated producer Young RJ stepping in as a rapper in 2009. With T3 and Young RJ’s stewardship, Slum Village has continued to innovate, producing revered albums such as “Trinity” with the standout track “Tainted,” and “Detroit Deli.
The duo play the Berna`rd Shaw mainfloor on November 14th, with support acts TBA.
