The Art of Villainy

This event takes place in The Chapel in the North Range of IMMA Venues.

Join award-winning author Dave Rudden for a new writing workshop perfect for the horribly-minded. Drawing on his enormous pantheon of horrors from the Knights of the Borrowed Dark universe, his new bestselling series Tales of Darkisle (Gill Books), and even his Doctor Who books, this workshop will give you everything you need to know about designing a villain you’ll love to hate.

Age: 8 – 12 yrs

This is a free event. Alternatively, by choosing a donation ticket to any amount, you would be contributing towards keeping DBF events accessible for all.

Dave Rudden is an Irish author and scriptwriter. His bestselling novel, Knights of the Borrowed Dark, won Children’s Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards in 2016 and is now a syllabus text. He has also authored multiple works in the universe of Doctor Who. Dave has been an Ambassador for Ireland Reads since 2022 and is Writer-in-Residence for the Kids Love Books podcast on RTÉ and Artist-in-Residence at Dublin City University.
