4 story walk up.carpetyed stairwell smells but rooms clean and renovated. Close to train station and trams. Many homeless outside hotel. Close to key areas

Super central location above an iconic pub, which allowed easy access on foot to most main attractions.
Separate entrance from the pub - not much noise, which was a pleasant surprise.
High-end finishes - a comfy mattress and an immaculate en-suite and kitchenette, which was a bonus. Friendly hosts. Would definitely stay there again.

Check-in was from 3 pm. Before that time our luggage could be stored on site.
Staff were kind and even helped carry some luggage up for us.
We had the standard apartment with 2 bedrooms for 3 people.
There were some steps to climb to the apartment and in our apartment we were almost on top of the rail tracks, but in the end that didn't bother us. If you're watching the telly and a train passes by, yes there's a moment when the sound of the TV is too low but during the night we haven't been woken by any train. We heard no noise from the pub either. Even though it was lovely weather and we had the window open. And otherwise you could do as our daughter did: Keep the window shut and put the fan on that's in the bedrooms.
The apartment is spacious enough, had great beds and a good shower. The kitchen area was spacious too with a big fridge and freezer. There weren't many pots and pans though but we just ate out so it didn't bother us. There were plenty of plates, mugs, glasses.
The location is great. In some 15-20 minutes you can walk to the centre of Dublin.
I saw some reviews about a young woman travelling alone not feeling really safe. I'm a woman and I walked there by myself and had no issues. But maybe if you get back to the apartment late in the evening it might feel different, somewhat rough. But it's a fairly busy street in daytime.
By the way, the pub doesn't serve food. There are options in the neighborhood for food though, take away or eating out.
