Good to know
Common questions before booking.
Where is the best area to stay in Dublin for first-timers?
Dublin 2 (around Grafton Street and St Stephen's Green) puts you within walking distance of most sights. Dublin 1, north of the Liffey, is usually better value and handy for Connolly Station and the airport buses.
What is the difference between a B&B and a guest house?
Both are family-run, with breakfast. In Ireland a guest house is larger (it usually has more rooms) and can have more facilities, while a B&B is often in the owner's home.
Is it cheaper to stay outside Dublin city centre?
Usually, yes. Swords and the coastal villages on the DART line (Malahide, Howth, Dún Laoghaire) are good-value bases with quick trains or buses into town.
Are these places officially approved?
Yes. Every listing comes from Fáilte Ireland's register of approved and registered accommodation, so the star ratings are the official ones.
How do I book?
Each listing links to the property's own website and to Booking.com via our partner link, so you can compare prices. Booking through our links supports Dublin 360 at no extra cost to you.
