Tattoo Like
A Girl Club:
Dublin’s most empowering ink experience

Right, you’re visiting Dublin, you’ve done the Guinness Storehouse, you’ve wandered through Temple Bar at night, and now you’re looking for something genuinely memorable to bring home. May I suggest something a little more permanent than a fridge magnet? Let me introduce you to one of my absolute favourite spots in the city: Tattoo Like A Girl Club, tucked away at Saint Augustine House, right beside the Brazen Head Bar, Ireland’s Oldest Inn!. It’s perfect for a drop in Tattoo either on the way to or from Guinness Storehouse.

This isn’t your average tattoo parlour. From the moment you step through the door, you’ll feel it, a warmth, a creativity, and an energy that’s entirely its own. Think lush plants, a cosy atmosphere, and a team of artists whose talent genuinely stops you in your tracks.

The Story Behind the Studio

Every great Dublin institution has a great origin story, and this one is no different. The Club was founded by the brilliant Gabi Barra, and its birth was, as she describes it, fortuitous, born out of a lively bar conversation with fellow female artists about the absence of a truly safe, welcoming space for clients and women tattoo artists alike. The answer? Create one.

A welcoming, inclusive space making your tattoo experience as unique and empowering as the art we create.

Gabi’s vision for the Club is a direct reflection of who she is: a strong, determined woman who refuses to compromise her femininity. The studio’s mission goes beyond great tattoos , it’s about encouraging creation, supporting the growth of female tattoo artists, and writing a new chapter in the history of body art. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like the city is genuinely doing something right.

Meet the Artists

The team at Tattoo Like A Girl Club is a remarkable collection of talent, each artist bringing their own distinctive style to the studio. Here’s who you might meet:

Each artist brings something genuinely unique to the table, from fine lines and delicate florals to bolder, more expressive styles. One reviewer raved about the “prettiest fine line design” from Talita, while another described Jess as “professional and accommodating,” creating a brilliant custom design for a mother and daughter visiting from the United States. With such a diverse roster of styles, you’re almost certain to find an artist who speaks your visual language.

The Vibe: What to Expect

Reviewers consistently describe the studio as a “hidden gem”, and I think that’s the perfect phrase for it. It feels intimate and homey, full of plants and warmth, completely at odds with the sometimes intimidating atmosphere of a traditional tattoo shop. Everyone from first-timers to seasoned collectors will feel at ease here.

One American visitor summed it up beautifully, noting that she and her daughter felt genuinely welcome from the moment they walked in. That’s the magic of this place, it doesn’t matter where you’re from or what experience level you have. You’re among friends.

Why This Place Matters

Dublin has always been a city of creatives, rebels, and storytellers. Tattoo Like A Girl Club fits perfectly into that tradition: a studio that challenges norms, champions individuality, and creates genuine community around an art form that has too long been defined by narrow stereotypes. It’s a place that celebrates diversity of styles and the power of personal stories told in ink.

Whether you’re a Dubliner finally taking the plunge, or a tourist who wants to leave with something truly meaningful, this is the place. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
